Total Number of Vacancies: 39

Name of the Post: Inspector of Legal Metrology

Age Limit: Candidate should have not more than 32 years as on 01-01-2012.

Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess Graduation from a recognized university in Science (with Physics as one of the Subjects), Technology or Engineering/ Diploma in Engineering/ Diploma in the Field of Metrology and is able to speak, read and write the regional language of the state i.e. Bengali/Nepali for the candidates from the hill area of Darjeeling District.

Application Fee Details: Applicants need to pay application fee of Rs. 160/- in form of Indian Postal Order crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata. SC/ST/candidates of WB and PWD candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

Selection Process: Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of Screening Test/ Preliminary Examination and Interview.

How to Apply: Eligible candidates may apply through prescribed application format, available in the notification, fill it completely, affix passport size photograph on it with duly signed by the candidate, along with copies of relevant documents either self certified or attested by competent authority, payment receipt, two self-addressed unstamped envelopes should be enclosed with the application should be sent to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, 161-A, S.P.Mukherjee Road, Kolkata – 700026 on or before 18-12-2012. Or may also be submitted personally between 11-00 AM and 3-30 PM on all working days at the Commission’s office.
